The AUGIS Gateshead meeting was a great success and, without doubt, the highlight was the amazing demonstration of laparoscopic skills in HPB surgery by Michael Kendrick of the Mayo Clinic. Euan Dickson of Glasgow stepped in at the last minute and gave an excellent talk on “Extreme Pancreatitis” which was extremely well received. We also had excellent sessions on hepatobiliary sepsis, emergency management and a state-of-the-art HPB session.
